Sometimes She Cries

Sometimes She Cries

Lyrics

Sometimes She Cries
She faces the world each day with a smile.
She takes on her daily chores in stride.
Knowing she does the best she can,
She holds her head high with pride.
But no matter how hard she tries,
Sometimes she cries.
She gives her all for her family.
Her husband has a problem with drink.
He has a hard time keeping a job,
It is not because of what you might think.
He has demons that haunt his mind.
Demons that followed him home from Iraq.
When his demons drive him to the brink,
She has to work to prove she has his back.
She holds him tight to keep the demons at bay.
Showers him with love to calm his nerves.
Keeps telling him everything will be alright.
Tries to give him the love he deserves.
But no matter how hard she tries,
Sometimes she cries.
She prays someday soon the demons leave,
Or at least be buried too deep to survive.
She longs for the times they once had,
When they were young and felt so alive.
She holds those memories deep in her heart.
Tries to think of them each and every day.
Keeps her family together through the bad times,
And tries her best to love the hurt away.
She’ll go on showing the world her smile.
She’ll weather what ever storm may pass.
She’ll love him with all of her heart,
And hope he can forget the past.
But no matter how hard she tries,
Sometimes she cries.
She tries to always show a smile.
Sometimes she cries.
