Heaven on Earth

It’s a cold, crisp, morning.
I slip in while it’s dark.
Get comfy in my chair,
and wait for the hunt to start.
The stillness of the night,
is something to behold.
Waiting on daylight,
to see just what unfolds.
I say a silent prayer,
and thank God I’m here.
It’s in these quiet moments,
I know the Lord is near.

Cuz I talk to God when I’m in my blind.
I thank Him for the opportunity.
I don’t just pray when I’m in a bind,
I thank Him for what He’s done for me.
The great outdoors was made by His hand,
and I thank God to be in this deer stand.
It’s Heaven on Earth to me and no place I’d rather be.

Sitting in the silence as the sun begins to shine.
I listen to the woods wake up,
it gets my heart pounding every time.
Darkness slowly fades,
and birds begin to sing.
I stare through the shadows to see what the daylight brings.
It’s not all about the kill,
but I’d be grateful if I can,
put some food on the table some folks don’t understand.
Even if I don’t see a thing, it’s all gonna be ok.
Cuz I spent quality time in the woods,
and I talked to God today.

Yeah I talk to God when I’m in my blind.
I thank Him for the opportunity.
I don’t just pray when I’m in a bind,
I thank Him for what He’s done for me.
The great outdoors was made by His hand,
and I thank God to be in this deer stand.
It’s Heaven on Earth to me and no place I’d rather be.

Is that just a bush,
or a deer staring back at me…..

It’s Heaven here on Earth and no place I’d rather be.
