I Ran Over Rudolph

I Ran Over Rudolph

Lyrics

I Ran Over Rudolph
I ran over Rudolph that night.
It happened so fast I couldn't
Turn left or right.
Santa went astray
Without Rudolph to show the way,
Cause I ran over Rudolph that night.
Late Christmas eve in my eighteen wheeler,
Headed home on the mountain parkway.
It was foggy, dark and slick,
When I think back I still get sick
Cause I didn't see the reindeer or the sleigh.
There was Rudolph on the wrong side of the road,
Santa Claus a bringing up the rear.
Half blinded by his big red nose,
I couldn't do a thing, I just froze,
I couldn't even reach to shift a gear.
I ran over Rudolph that night.
It happened so fast I couldn't
Turn left or right.
Santa went astray
Without Rudolph to show the way,
Cause I ran over Rudolph that night.
Santa and his eight took to the air.
I know it really hurt that poor old soul.
I hit Rudolph straight head on,
We'll all miss him now that he is gone.
I hope Santa finds his way to the north pole.
Why do they put all the blame on me?
I wasn't even doing fifty five.
When I climbed out of the wreck
I saw a keg of brandy around his neck.
If he hadn't been drinking he'd still be alive.
I ran over Rudolph that night.
It happened so fast I couldn't
Turn left or right.
Santa went astray
Without Rudolph to show the way,
Cause I ran over Rudolph that night.
I'm sure going to miss having Christmas.
No more presents underneath the tree.
I'll be paying for the rest of my life.
I hope Santa don't shun my wife
They wouldn't even let me have the meat.
It will be known as the year without Christmas.
There will be more for some but none for me.
Though I pleaded to the judge,
Santa sure holds a mean grudge.
I'll be in jail till the year 2033.
I ran over Rudolph that night.
It happened so fast I couldn't
Turn left or right.
Santa went astray
Without Rudolph to show the way,
Cause I ran over Rudolph that night.
