Lonnie B

Lonnie B

Lyrics

Lonnie B
Growing up, you were my hero.
You worked hard against all odds.
Gave your family all they could want.
Your disability never crossed your mind.
You were loved by everyone that knew you,
Most of all by me.
Though we were only cousins,
We were more like brothers.
We spent our summers side by side.
Getting into meanness, sharing our mothers.
To either, we could both confide.
Later, we led our own lives,
But we always kept in touch.
You and your wonderful wife,
Raised two great kids you loved so much.
Worked extra hard to give them a good life.
You never complained, no matter the degree of pain.
You always took everything in stride.
Your faith in the Lord never did waver.
You thanked Him for being by your side.
You were never ashamed to kneel to your Savior.
Your last year, your mind started getting cloudy,
But you always stayed happy and calm,
Like you knew you would soon find peace.
Reunite with your love and your Dad and Mom.
All the pain you had endured would cease.
I dearly miss you Lonnie B.
You are in my thoughts,
And you will always be.
You were my brother from another mother.
If we will be together in Heaven.
I will just have to wait and see.
Growing up, you were my hero.
You worked hard against all odds.
Gave your family all they could want.
Your disability never crossed your mind.
You were loved by everyone that knew you,
Most of all by me.
I dearly miss you, Lonnie B.
