Lyrics
Betty the Albino BiddyBetty The albino biddy, was afraid to come out of her shell,
She didn't know her brothers and sisters were yellow,
And she was white and pale.
I remember that cool spring morn
When Betty the albino biddy was born.
Mother hen had set a long time on her nest,
Keeping her eggs warm and doing her best,
Because something in her heart said this batch,
Was going to be the best she had ever hatched.
Mother hen was just sitting an whistling a tune,
Knitting a bonnet with a fork and a spoon,
When all of a sudden she felt something under her go crack.
A little startled she stood up and stepped back.
Looking down at her eggs, brown with specks,
She saw a little beak breaking a shell with it's pecks.
Suddenly all the eggs started to move and shake.
One by one they all began to crack and break.
The little biddies emerged full of wonder and delight.
What is this? Five yellow biddies and one white?
“How could this be,” she exclaimed, not knowing what to think.
She had to go over to the water pan to get a drink.
Betty The albino biddy, was afraid to come out of her shell,
She didn't know her brothers and sisters were yellow,
And she was white and pale.
Mother hen noticed the white one, so pale and frail,
Just had it's legs and head sticking out of it's shell.
It was afraid to come out to a world so big and new.
She felt safe in her shell where it was dark and warm too.
But her mother new that this reluctance could not last.
She would have to think of something, and do it fast.
So, mother hen started pecking at Betty's shell.
With a few swift pecks and a fling it finally fell,
To the ground and now Betty was at last free like the others
And could mingle with her yellow sisters and brothers.
Only mother hen knew her biddies were different colors.
It didn't seem to matter to the cow, pigs, ducks or others.
To her biddies they were all just the same.
Racing around and playing little biddie games.
Betty The albino biddy, was afraid to come out of her shell,
She didn't know her brothers and sisters were yellow,
And she was white and pale.
