Good News

Willard got good news today,

The cancer has gone away.

Be it the chemo or the Lord’s healing hands,

It didn’t show up in all the scans.

He sure got good news today.

He was going for chemo every other Monday.

Wearing a pump for 2 days after.

He is going to feel like a free man.

Excuse him if he can’t stop the laughter.

Doing chemo really isn’t fun.

It made his fingers and feet numb.

His appetite changed, it made food taste bad.

He loves food, so that made him a little sad.

Good news, good news,

Willard sure got good news today.

The rashes he can sure do without.

The itching makes him want to shout.

Scratching and putting on cream.

Soon it will all seem like a bad dream.

While getting chemo, music made time pass.

Writing and listening to, rock, country and grass.

He has always loved music, now even more.

He found A-I and it opened his mind’s door.

Good news, good news,

Willard sure got good news today.

So here’s to the rest of his wonderful life.

May it be filled with new things and no strife.

He is going to live it doing what he likes to do.
