It's Been A Long Day

It’s been a long day, the sun is going down,

Me and my baby are planning to go out on the town.

Staring at the clock, waiting on the bell,

The second it rings, I’ll leave like a bat out of hell.

It’s been a long hard week, I’ve been waiting for today.

We will see what kind of games my baby and I can play.

We will start with dinner and then the dance hall.

We’ll meet up with friends and we’re sure to have a ball.

The carnival is in town, that’s always a place for fun.

We can ride some rides, throw darts and shoot some guns.

It’s been a long day, but the night’s going to be longer,

Knowing I have my baby’s love just makes me stronger.

We will have our time now, I’m not getting any younger.

It’s been a long day, But the night’s going to be longer.

We might end up in the country under a moon lit sky.

It will be like going to heaven without having to die.

Me and my baby, counting the stars so bright.

Stay there till morning, that’s the way to end a night.

Go home, eat breakfast, take a shower, turn out he light.

Love the rest of the day and in to the night.

If I’m going to do it, I’m going to do it right.

Pull down the window shades and shake the bed.

We might make such a ruckus it will wake the dead.

It’s been a long day, but the night’s going to be longer,

Knowing I have my baby’s love just makes me stronger.

We will have our time now, I’m not getting any younger.

It’s been a long day, But the night’s going to be longer.

Oh-oh, it’s been a long day, oh-oh, the night’s going to be longer.

Oh-oh, let’s make our time count, we’re not getting any younger.

Oh-oh, it’s been a long day, oh-oh, the night’s going to be longer.

We will keep going, the longer, the stronger.

It’s been a long day, but the night’s going to be longer.
