Kentucky Spring

Lavender and yellow, white, red and green.

These are the colors of a Kentucky spring.

Country so pretty it's hard to describe.

I feel so lucky to be alive in

Kentucky e e e, young, wild and free.

Oh Kentucky, means everything to me.

Apple and red bud and dogwood in bloom,

Hickory, oak and the beech trees too.

Touching the blue sky with colors so bright,

Painting a picture on a cloud of white in

Kentucky e e e, young, wild and free.

Oh Kentucky, means everything to me.

A fine mare a prancing, bursting with pride.

A newborn colt runs by her side.

Cattle a grazing, swishing their tails,

Enjoying the new grass that spring has unveiled in

Kentucky e e e, young, wild and free.

Oh Kentucky, means everything to me.

Summer and autumn and winter so long,

They each inspire their own special song.

I am the minstrel so I choose to sing

Of my favorite season, oh glorious spring in

Kentucky e e e, young, wild and free.

Oh Kentucky, means everything to me.
