Gone to Heaven

On the earth our days are numbered,
No time to rest or slumber,
Not enough time to get things done,
So enjoy life, have some fun.
Sunrise to sunset, time flies by,
Moments like sand slipping dry,
Chasing dreams under the moon's light,
Holding on tight through the night.
Gone, heaven is my home, gone,
I'm feeling like I don't belong,
But while I'm here, I'll sing my song,
Heaven's where my heart belongs.
Planting seeds, hoping they grow,
Catching memories in the undertow,
Laughing loud, rolling in the hay,
Making the most of every day.
Days of gold and nights of stars,
Stories told behind country bars,
Footsteps fade, memories linger,
Pointing our way where angels' fingers.
Gone, heaven is my home, gone,
I'm feeling like I don't belong,
But while I'm here, I'll sing my song,
Heaven's where my heart belongs.
